Exec Summary

Robotic Process Automation [RPA] is a technology typically used to handle repetitive, high-volume, rules-based administration. It can interface with any system or application, including legacy systems, or directly with flat files (Excel, CSV) to link and transform data across silos. As data is transformed and progressed through a process, validations are used to ensure data quality – with failures managed as an exception (e.g., emailed to someone for action). Intervention points are placed to allow a person to authorise a process to proceed and critical datapoints can be monitored to build interactive dashboards and populate KPIs.

Tactical quick wins can be achieved with minimal disruption. For example, a process can be maintained largely as it is, but supported by appropriate automation to make it more efficient. This can improve a process’s average handling costs, speed, and accuracy. Ultimately, RPA can be an important step in something much more important – a broader digital transformation plan. Above and beyond the immediate tactical benefits, organisations that adopt digitisation can improve customer and business user experiences, understand and respond better to market opportunities, scale more quickly and operate with greater efficiency.

Autonomous Technologies delivers RPA ‘as a service’. This slashes the high up-front costs common to other RPA business models and enables clients to deploy RPA with minimal risk and capital.
